VAUCLUSE

This house was nearing the end of its construction by CMS Built and we came into design anew garden around the house for a young family. The client wanted a garden for their family to enjoy with a formal element to it. Up the front path to the front door we suggest using mature Magnolia ‘Teddy bear’ and underplanted with gardenia and geranium with a simple sandstone path and steps at the front door. In the rear we designed a large sandstone wall to create planting areas above it for a formal planting of Magnolia ‘teddy Bear’ with an under planting of Philodendron ‘Xanadu’ to create a tropical- formal planting. In the rear we mass planted Hydrangea in colour swathes with a border planting of Philodendron in front. The lawn was to be used by the family so we went with Zoysia for its toughness. Down the northern side the client wanted as many varieties of Citrus trees they could get with herbs and veggies under. We install these on the upper retained boundary with stepping-stones and ground cover on the lower portion to be a mix of Viola and creeping thyme.
